New York, NY, United States (AHN Entertainment) – Diddy’s police escort has prompted an investigation by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg after learning that the police department provided an escort to the rap superstar without proper authorization.

The NYPD admitted that it provided Diddy escort following a concert last week. According to Page Six, Diddy was supposed to fly in a helicopter to New Jersey to make good on a $75,000 club appearance. But the air flight wasn’t cleared by the FAA so he demanded a police escort to get him through the traffic.

He was escorted by three NYPD squad cars, and was joined by New Jersey cops at the venue Friday.

Although Diddy made it in time for his club appearance, the NY mayor wasn’t too happy about the rapper’s special treatment.

He told the New York Post, “The bottom line is the police department should treat everybody exactly the same. If you don’t get a police escort, P. Diddy shouldn’t.”

Bloomberg said he spoke with Police Commissioner Ray Kelly Tuesday morning upon learning of the incident.
